On October 18, 2007 Cathay Pacific Airways will inaugurate its second non-stop flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong. The new flight will have a daytime departure to give passengers a choice of both a day and evening flight on Cathay Pacific. The airline also increased the number of flights on its Vancouver-Hong Kong route from fourteen to seventeen last week, adding three morning departures.
The airline’s other routes to Hong Kong include three non-stops per day from Los Angeles, one non-stop per day from New York, and a daily connection from New York via Vancouver.
Alan Wong, Cathay Pacific Senior Vice President Americas, said the additional services are responsive to growing demand for travel to Asia, particularly mainland China. China’s National Tourism Administration expects 129 million foreign visitors this year, an increase of five million over 2006.
