The San Stefano district of Alexandria, Egypt is the site of a newly opened Four Seasons hotel. The location overlooking the Mediterranean was once occupied by the fabled San Stefano Hotel. Now private balconies off of each of the Four Season’s 118 rooms provide views of the sea and the city.
The rooms and suites are decorated with Mediterranean accents and feature Roman-style bathrooms done in marble. Technical amenities include high-speed internet connections in special work areas and the bedside. A 24-hour business center is also available.
The Four Seasons Hotel San Stefano houses a fitness center, kinesis studio, infinity pool, and will soon open a spa. The kinesis studio, with special equipment for resistance training, is included in the fitness center, along with a squash court and two gyms. One of the gyms is set aside for women only. The center will be open around the clock, and have certified trainers available at all times. Later this summer, a two-story spa will open adjacent to the fitness center. The spa will include twelve treatment rooms and two couple’s treatment suites. The infinity pool is located on the fourth floor terrace.
Guests can dine on Lebanese and French cuisine at Byblos, the Four Seasons’ premier restaurant, or at any of the eight other restaurants, lounges, and bars in the hotel. Kala serves Mediterranean food, while authentic Italian cooking is offered at Stefano’s. Tapas are available in Bleu, and the Fresca Café and Gelateria provides coffee and gelato. Music can be heard in the Lobby Lounge and Le Bar. The all-day dining of the Lobby Lounge is accompanied by live entertainment starting in the afternoon, and Le Bar provides live jazz.
The hotel’s grand ballroom hosts up to seven hundred people. The interior decoration of the room is highlighted by the hand-painted ceiling.
The Alexandria property is Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts fourth hotel in Egypt and its ninth in the Middle East.
