CitySights NY, operators of hop-on, hop-off double-decker bus sightseeing tours in New York City, has unveiled a unique, new feature on its fleet to provide all-weather passenger comfort while allowing a full view of the sights along its routes. Ha Tien – an attractive tourist destination

Ha Tien, about 8km from the Cambodian border next to the Gulf of Thailand, is a town boasting both historical value and natural beauty. It sits on the Dong Ho Sea opposite To Chau Mountain with its green pepper gardens and the famous Phu Dung and Tam Bao pagodas.

Ha Tien, more than 300km from Ho Chi Minh City, derived its name from Vietnamese word tien which means fairies. Legend has it that the region’s enchanting landscape attracted fairies to visit. [Read more…]

Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok to Open Soon

Thai Airways International will land its newest aircraft an Airbus A340-600 at Suvarnabhumi Airport 29 September as the first plane that landed on the new airport and to technically declare the airport ready. Thailand’s Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and members of the Thai cabinet will be aboard the flight.

The airport itself will be operating and open for public in the middle of 2006.

The new airport will replace the old one Don Muang International Airport that first open in 1914. [Read more…]

In the USA, a typical return flight from New York City to Montreal, Canada, for example costs about $300 for a trip that is just over 1 hour. For roughly the same price, one can fly domestically across the country from New York to Los Angeles – a much longer trip. With very few exceptions, flights are cheaper domestically – they are subject to less taxes and regulations for the airlines, and they are often on more traveled routes so the airlines can afford a discount. In most countries, active-duty military members enjoy discounted airfares. Not only the state-run airlines, but also even most commercial airlines, offer these discounts. This is one way of expressing the gratitude towards those who are serving the nation. For current military personnel, the US General Administration also runs the City Pair program, under which the officials travel on discounted airfares as they travel for official work.

Many commercial airlines offer military personnel special discounts on airfares even if they are making personal trips. Some offer this discount to family members, too. Generally, most of the airlines offering military discounts have a standard rate of discount which is applicable on all routes. They also offer such discounts on international airfares. You can bring your pet with you by using air travel services. These services fall into two categories, in-cabin and cargo. In-cabin pets must be small enough to fit into a carrier that will slide under the seat in front of you. Pets too large to fit comfortably in a carrier must travel in cargo.
