Checking Luggage Do’s and Don’ts

As with everything else in life there are ‘rules’ governing the checking of your luggage when you travel. They aren’t real complicated. Rather, they are more like common sense things to do. Paying attention to these tips could make your checking in an easier process.

Do check airlines and other transportation modes to see what their policies are regarding checked luggage and carry on luggage. Most have a weight limit or a quantity limit. You should also check to see if the company has a luggage tracking service and how to make a claim in the event of damage or loss. [Read more…]

Overbooking

Overbooking is not illegal, and most airlines overbook their scheduled flights to a certain extent in order to compensate for “no-shows.” Passengers are sometimes left behind or “bumped” as a result. When an oversale occurs, the Department of Transportation (DOT) requires airlines to ask people who aren’t in a hurry to give up their seats voluntarily, in exchange for compensation. Rock Climbing In Rizal – Philippines

Rock climbing is an extreme sport that has recently taken over the hearts of many sports enthusiasts. It is a newly-introduced sport, but it has swept the whole country like a raging storm. Now, there are numerous climbing spots and scenes in Manila and other major cities.

For the moment, in Manila you can find 3 gyms that have indoor artificial climbing walls. These are the Planet Rock in Makati, or the Power Up Gym in Quezon City, or if you find yourself in Parañaque you can try the Gravity Gym. These gyms are great places to meet new friends, to talk with knowledgeable and friendly local climbers, and to practice your skills. Soon, there will also be other gyms who will put up their own artificial climbing walls. The stores that sell equipment for such sport have flourished. [Read more…]

Kuwait’s First Private Airline to Start in February

Kuwait’s first private airline, no-frills al-Jazeera Airways, said on Saturday it would begin operations in February with two leased Airbus jets. “Al-Jazeera Airways will begin operations in February with two Airbus 320-200 which will be rented for 6 to 8 months,” Jazeera’s Vice President of Operations, Captain Adel al-Barjas, said.

When the two planes are returned in October 2005, Jazeera will receive the first two of four Airbus jets already purchased; it will get the other two in October 2006, he said. Barjas said that al-Jazeera was also in talks to purchase four other Airbus planes and had the option to decide on that up to 2008. [Read more…]
