Cathay Pacific to start direct flights to Maldives in October

Cathay Pacific Airways will launch a new four-times-weekly service to the Maldives, one of the most-sought-after getaways in the world for leisure travellers. The new service is scheduled to commence on 27 October 2013.

To ensure passengers enjoy the maximum comfort for their journey to the Maldives, Cathay Pacific will use an Airbus A330-300 aircraft equipped with its award-winning Business Class, new Premium Economy Class and Long-haul Economy Class cabins. Cathay Pacific Chooses Amadeus’ Altea Customer Management System

Cathay Pacific Airways has chosen the Altéa Customer Management Solution (CMS) software from Amadeus as part of its commitment to new technology in support of the airline’s growth strategy. Cathay Pacific currently uses Amadeus’ internet booking package for its reservation systems. The Altéa suite has been chosen for management of the entire passenger service chain, including reservation, inventory, and departure control systems for Cathay Pacific and its subsidiary, Dragonair. Cathay Pacific Adds Flights to Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Sendai

On October 28, Cathay Pacific Airways will expand its service from Hong Kong to Japan. The airline will begin a new daily flight to Tokyo and will code-share Dragonair’s new flights to Fukuoka and Sendai. The additional flights will bring the number of Cathay Pacific Group flights between the two countries to 101 per week.

The new early-morning Tokyo flight, CX548, will fly to Japan’s largest international airport, Narita International Airport.

Cathay Pacific Flight CX6700 will be a code-share service with Dragonair on its sister airline’s new daily non-stop to Fukuoka. Cathay Pacific currently serves Fukuoka with a daily flight via Taipei. [Read more…]
