Hotel Indigo Changi Airport will open a new 255-room hotel at Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 2 by 2028. The hotel aims to be the first zero-energy hotel in Singapore and potentially the first zero-energy airport hotel globally, incorporating sustainable features like solar panels, hybrid cooling systems, naturally ventilated corridors, and rainwater-harvesting technology. Located in the public area of Terminal 2 and connected via a linkway, the hotel will enhance Changi’s hospitality offerings.
Resorts World Sentosa opens Equarius Hotel and Beach Villas
On 16 February 2012, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore opened two new hotels – the Equarius Hotel and Beach Villas – at its 49-hectare mega-resort.

Resorts World Sentosa opening first four hotels on January 20th
Resorts World Sentosa, the first integrated resort in Singapore, will start a phased opening on January 20th, 2010 with four of its hotels opening on the same day. Resorts World Sentosa’s four hotels – Festive Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, Crockfords Tower and Hotel Michael – offer a combined inventory of 1,350 rooms and 10 restaurant outlets at their opening. Another two hotels at the Resort, Equarius Hotel and Spa Villas, will add another 500 rooms when they launch after 2010. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Awarded Green Globe
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has been awarded “Green Globe” by the non-profit environmental organization EC3. In its first annual ‘Earthcheck’ assessment against benchmarking indicators and checklists to track performance in key areas of environmental and social impact, the 320-room hotel outperformed baseline levels in seven areas including water savings, use of paper products, cleaning products and pesticides. Marina Bay Sands in Singapore planned opening by February 15, 2010
Las Vegas Sands Corp. Chairman Sheldon G. Adelson and other senior executives celebrated the topping off of the three hotel towers at the company’s Marina Bay Sands property in Singapore. To clarify any ambiguities concerning the property’s opening date the company issued the following statement:

Singapore Airlines Check-In at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport
Guests at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport in Singapore now get an added bonus when they stay at the 320-room city-style resort.
Guests can now literally “check in” as they “check out”: check into Singapore Airlines or SilkAir flights from a dedicated counter in the lobby of the hotel, at the same time as they check out of their rooms.
The unique new service is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) personnel, who take care of check–in baggage and issue boarding passes. [Read more…]
Singapore Airlines Start Flights To Kuwait
Singapore Airlines started operating flights between Kuwait and Singapore, via Abu Dhabi. SQ458 departed Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 1305hrs and is expected to arrive in Kuwait at 1830hrs (all times local).
For the return leg of the trip, SQ457 will depart from Kuwait at 2120hrs, and arrive in Singapore at 1230hrs the next day. Both legs of the flight will operate via Abu Dhabi.
This new four times weekly service will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft. [Read more…]
Singapore Changi Airport Reports Traffic Growth in 2008
Despite the global economic slowdown in the second half of 2008, Singapore Changi Airport handled a higher volume of passenger traffic, with 37.7 million passenger movements handled in 2008, up 2.7% from 2007.
Among the top 15 markets by passenger traffic, both regional and long-haul sectors registered growth. In the region, the sectors of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam, grew 6.5%, 9.4%, 11.9% and 19.4% respectively, while the long-haul sectors of Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom grew 5.6%, 5% and 7%. Declines of 10.9% and 5.2% were registered in passenger traffic from Thailand and China. [Read more…]
Qantas Starts Sydney – Singapore – London A380 Flights
Qantas will extend its A380 network to Singapore and the United Kingdom later today, with its inaugural A380 service between Sydney and London. Executive General Manager, Mr John Borghetti, said the airline would initially operate three A380 services each week on the Kangaroo Route.
“Since we operated our first A380 service between Melbourne and Los Angeles in October last year, this aircraft has generated extremely positive feedback from our customers,” Mr Borghetti said. [Read more…]
